Equestrian Journey (2007)
Logical and systematic workshops with leading active dressage riders of St. Petersburg, combined with breathtaking exploration of St. Petersburg, Russia’s most beautiful city.
Despite many changes and developments in political and economic environment of the country, some 70 private horse stables proudly call St. Petersburg their home. Young riders of the city are greatly influenced by the sculptural and artistic equestrian heritage of the former capital of Russia.
Day 1
Arrive in St. Petersburg. Airport / train station pick-up, private transfer to the St. Petersburg Hotel (or a hotel of the same or similar value).
Day 2
Introduction riding lessons: demonstrations of the International intermediate dressage elements by a selected horse and your trainer, rider’s seat and balance, lateral movement and counter canter (walk, trot, canter). Afternoon: Panoramic City Tour of St. Petersburg.
Day 3
Riding workshops: ranverse, traverse, leg-yield, shoulder-in. Afternoon: St. Peter and St. Paul Fortress and Cathedral. Optional: trip to a private riding club in the former estate of Count Viazemsky. Dinner at the Club. Evening: Theater performance.
Day 4
Riding workshop: pirouette techniques (walk, canter), change of leg. Afternoon: St. Isaac’s Cathedral. Optional: Visit to a private riding club in the elite suburban community "Komarovo" located on the shore of the Gulf of Finland. Dinner at the Club.
Day 5
Trail ride in the suburbs of St. Petersburg (different mount on this day). Afternoon: The State Hermitage Museum.
Day 6
Riding workshop: change of leg, pirouette techniques (walk, canter). Afternoon: Tour of Petrodvorets (Peterhoff) lower Park featuring 170 fountains – part of the 18th century residence of Peter the Great.
Day 7
Airport transfer, departure from St. Petersburg
